Coeur du Village was founded in 2020 when the Fondation communautaire du Témiskaming, the Club Lions d’Earlton and the Club d’Âge d’Or joined forces to purchase the former Earlton village grocery store.
Since then, volunteers have helped build the new center and hold numerous fundraisers. More than 6,000 volunteer hours and several donations from local professionals have made it possible to complete this community project in time for the grand opening, scheduled for September 2022.
Coeur du Village is intended to be a gathering place for the entire community, whether it’s for a meeting, professional development, a celebration, a card tournament or to play shuffle board with friends. Residents, businesses and local clubs can rent one of the two rooms available – the Salle Desjardins and the Salle Franc-A-Mi.
The installation of a craft store will allow us to showcase the work of our local artisans. L’Union culturelle des franco-ontariens will also reside in the Coeur du Village, with the transfer of a dozen looms, currently installed in the basement of the St-Jean Baptiste d’Earlton church.
The center is completely accessible to people with reduced mobility.

The Salle Desjardins has a capacity of 50 people, while the Salle Franc-A-Mi can accommodate up to 149 people. A kitchen and a bar are also available at an additional cost.
